News from Shanghai, around 11 am today, a liquid ammonia leakage accident happed in a cold room of Shanghai Weng Brand Industrial Co.,Ltd. Up to now, this accident has killed 15 people , 26 people injured , six of them in a critical condition and all injured people were being treated at the hospital.
After the accident, city leader and safety supervision, fire and health departments and Baoshan District government quickly carried out rescue operation. At present, all rescue working has been finished. And the accident cause is still under further investigation.

Likewise, on 3th June this year, Jilin Baoyuanfeng poultry plant fire also caused by liquid ammonia leak, which made 120 killed and 70 badly injured.
Toplea Suggestion: Although liquid ammonia as a refrigerant has some advantages for its good cooling effect, lower price and lower requirement for pipe system, it is unstable and easy leak to cause serious explosion accidents. Therefore, we strongly recommend our clients to choose freon instead of liquid ammonia
