Nearly 90% of People Have Restarted Eating Chicken Meat after Avian Flu Fading Away
September 16, 2013, According to a survey from Shanghai Cuisine Association shows that nearly 90% people have started eating chicken again. Among which, 86% of people eat chicken 1-2 times a week.
This survey received about 2500 investigation report. Currently people who still reject eating chicken meat are for their own preference. As choice for live chicken meat or chilling meat, almost half of the people expressed they can accept both fresh meat or chilled meat and over 70% of people will have not resisted the live chicken. Based on those data, we can see that the public has been gradually recovering the eating habit for chicken meat.
Jin Peihua, Deputy Secretary of City Restaurant Culinary Industry Association, said that avian influenza resulted in business decrease for some restaurants in Shanghai.But now, the demand for chicken meat has been returned back to the level before avian influ outbroke, going back to the normal state. "Seen from the data, chicken meat still is the most favorite meats for Shanghai residents.
